2nd century for Dickwella

The 2nd round of Singer Schools Under 17 Division 01 Cricket tournament started today at the BRC grounds with the home team Isipathana College, Colombo taking on Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya.

So far it has been a tremendous season for Theyindu Dickwella of Isipathana College who has scored two centuries and one half century in the tournament. His first century was against Maristella College, Negambo and he made his 2nd against Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya.

The home team won the toss and elected to bat first putting up a huge total of 309 runs for 9 wickets. Theyindu Dickwella’s Century was the highlight as he scored 120 runs while Ravindu Rathnayake scored 74 runs. Vihanga Gunethilake took 3 wickets for 29 runs and Sanchana Lanka grabbed 2 wickets for 37 runs for the boys from Pannipitiya.

Chasing a mammoth total, the boys from Pannipitiya could score only a 111 all out in 37.5 overs. Once again it was Sanchala Lanka who performed for the Dharmapala team, scoring 41 runs. Tharusha Perera took 3 wickets for just 16 runs while Lomitha Ravinjith and Yasiru Kasthuriarachchi took 2 wickets each for Isipathana.

Isipathana won by 198 runs.
