CR & FC trio crossover to Havies

The Havelock Park club that saw many of their key players depart to join other clubs this season has made their move in the transfer market, enlisting three new signings from CR & FC as they look to rebuild their playing XV ahead of the Dialog Rugby League 2018/19

After a four-year stint at the Longdon Place club, former Peterite Dilanka Perera will switch jerseys from red to pink. The loose forward will be an ideal re-enforcement for the Havelock side that looks to make a comeback this season.

Sri Lanka national representative Sashan Mohammed will be another new signing as the 26-year-old will make it to his fourth club in the Dialog Rugby League. The Trinity College alumni joined Up Country soon after his schooling career and switched sides to Army Sports Club before making it to Longdon Place.

With four years in the red shirt, he will be looking at a new beginning at the Park Club when the season starts in November this year. Mohammed also represented the Sri Lanka national sevens team in 2016 in the 1st leg of the Asian Sevens Series.

Former Wesley College captain Zayan Sabar has also confirmed his contract to Havelock Sports Club according to club sources and will aid the fierce front row that comprises of Dushmantha Priyadarshana and Prasad Madusanka. Sabar joined CR following his schooling career in 2016 but had to sit out last season due to injury.

The concluded Inter Club sevens saw many more new faces turning up in Havelock SC colours and it will also include former CR & FC players such as Shanaka Kumara and Prince Chamara.

The deadline for transfers is 48 hours prior to the kick off of the Dialog Rugby League 2018/19.
