Milo Sri Lanka will continue their partnership with schools rugby for the 26th successive occasion with the Milo Knockout Trophy launched in celebrative fashion in keeping with the true spirit of sport and it’s core values.

Season 2018 is now history. That is the season proper and the league title..
The Milo Knockout Trophy that is set to kick off this weekend will see three tournaments kick off in succession with the President’s Trophy, Premier Trophy and the Chairman’s Trophy that will be played by teams from the different divisions.
At a time when the true values of the sport of rugby are declining with the games in the league halted due unrest with fans, tournament organizers expect to re-visit the core values of the sport inculcated in the teams that will take part in the tournament to widespread the message across.
Speaking at the launch, Brand Manager of Milo Sri Lanka, Mohammed Ali added that by bringing the true values of sport and to have respect for one another.
“It is the mutual respect to one another that rugby inculcates and through our initiative of Respect the Game we love, we plan to take this to the players, coaching staff, parents and the fans”
Through the tournament, the sponsors intend to spread the true values of the sport via the concept of ‘Respect the Game’.
Adding further to the cause, the president of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) added that the teams should respect one another to bring back the core values.

“We must respect the game, it’s not only the players and coaches but everyone should respect the game.
Today the game has become competitive and people have forgotten that these are school children. They are also human. They tire hard all over the year and they will need to take something so these players need to also balance their studies hand in hand. That is when they emerge successful” added the president of he SLSRFA Ranjith Chandrasekara.
“There is a problem in our country, even we don’t know what is it but I know that we must fix it” he added further on the situation of the school sports in the country that he intends to fix during his tenure as President.

The all important tournament that starts this weekend will have eight teams competing in the President’s Trophy while there will be 7 and 5 teams in the Premier and Chairman’s trophies respectively.
