Over 150 young cricketers from around the country will participate in the upcoming SLC Under 19 Provincial One Day Tournament, scheduled to be held in Colombo from the 12th to the 23rd of June.
10 teams have been drafted into 2 groups with each team having to play the other four teams once in the group stage. The top team from each group will then advance to the final, scheduled to be played on 23rd June.
All provinces from around the country will be participating in this tournament except Sabaragamuwa Province; Western Province will field three teams.

Last year, Southern Province, under the leadership of Dhananjaya Lakshan, clinched the title, beating Western Province South in the final.
With the reigning World U19 champions, India scheduled to tour Sri Lanka next month, the players will have the opportunity to impress the new Head Coach Hashan Tillakarathne and the selectors.

Only players eligible to play the 2018/19 Schools Season will be participating in this tournament.
Former Sri Lanka Wicket-keeper Batsman Brendon Kuruppu will function as the Tournament Director.
