The lads from Moratuwa completed a decent game in preparation for the big match as they played their traditional encounter against Wesley College at De Zoysa stadium in Moratuwa.

Mahanama breaks Thurstan hearts

Mahanama College stun Thurstan College in the Singer U19 two-day..

The visitors were 32 for 2 at close of play yesterday and were bowled out for 193 with Isuru Sandeepana and Sakuntha Liyanage making half-tons. Left-arm spinner Vinuja Ranasinghe continued his form with the ball as he chipped in with another 4-wicket haul to give honors to St. Sebastian’s College as they had posted 350+ in their 1st innings.

The Sebs came in to bat in the second innings without enforcing the follow-on, clearly suggesting that they wanted to let their batsmen have a good look at the De Zoysa pitch, which will host the Battle of the Golds encounter between St Sebastian’s and Prince of Wales in March. Sakuntha Liyanage was impressive with bat and ball as he scored 56 with the willow and claimed 6 wickets with the ball to complete a successful game for him.
