Bloomfield vs Badureliya

Badureliya SC secured a commendable first innings lead of 208 runs when stumps were drawn on day two, as Bloomfield were thrown into the relegation zone with the final day to go in the Plate Championship.

Interestingly it is also former Sri Lanka and NCC cricketer Jehan Mubarak’s first stint as a coach in the domestic arena and his team will be up against it, come day three with other results going against them.

Badureliya ended the day on 381/5 thanks to centuries from Pathum Nissanka and Nadeera Nawela.

Tamil Union vs CCC

CCC all but secured their place in the tier A segment for next season as they made 442 all out in their first innings to lead Tamil Union by 245 runs.

The star of their innings was Lasith Abeyratne who smashed a century in quick time before being unfortunately run out on 115, while Sachith Pathirana added some late fire works making a quick fire 70 runs.

Moors vs Army

Army who dominated day one in their game against Moors lost five wickets in quick succession to be badly placed at 15/5 in pursuit of 194 for an outright win.

Chamara Silva and Kosala Kulasekara hit viral half centuries in Moors’ 314 all out before HRC Dilshan did the damage with the ball picking up three wicket to add to his five in the first innings.

NCC beat Saracens by a comprehensive 313 runs thanks to a six wicket haul from right arm off spinner Sachintha Pieris.

Pieris worked his magic after Chathuranga De Silva and Nimesha Gunasinghe hit half centuries earlier in the day to set Saracens a humongous 440 for an outright win.

BRC were blown away by some top quality second innings batting from the experienced SSC batting line up as they registered an 8 wicket win chasing 185 for victory.

BRC were bowled out for 183 early in the day with Akash Senaratne capturing 9 wickets in the game, before half centuries from Milinda Siriwardena and Kaushal Silva guided them in a tricky run chase.
