Kusal Mendis returns to form in First-class cricket

The second week of the Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) Premier League Tier A Tournament concluded today with tournament favorites SSC and NCC both recordings outright victories.

SSC vs Saracens 

A collective effort from the SSC bowlers set up a resounding win for SSC over Saracens Sports Club today. Saracens who were bowled out for 238 in their first innings, looked promising in their second essay before a sudden collapse restricted them to 258 all out. SSC raced to the victory target in just 6.4 overs to secure a much deserving 7 wicket win.

Shammu Ashan and Milinda Siriwardana hit centuries for the winners while Dhammika Prasad and Jefferey Vandersay were the chief destroyers with the ball.

Chilaw Marians vs  BRC 

Chilaw Marians and BRC were involved in the first tie of the tournament in a dramatic encounter that ended at the FTZ grounds in Katunayake today.

Chasing just 95 runs for an outright win BRC crumbled against the spin of Malinda Pushpakumara, as they were bowled out for 94 with former skipper Harsha Vithana unbeaten on 35*.
