A total of 32 teams from various parts from the Island have advanced to the second round of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 13 division 1 Inter Schools Cricket Tournament.
77 teams participated in the tournament which was held in the form of a league format during the Group stage. The 77 teams were spread across 10 groups and matches were played across the island.
Tissa Central College, Kalutara came into the tournament as defending champions and Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa as the runners-up of the Division 1 tournament last season. Both these two teams have qualified for this year’s second round which will commence in December.
The 32 qualified teams will play on a league basis in 8 groups in the second round. The top two teams in each group will go through to the to the pre-quarter final round. The semifinal round will also be played on league basis where the champions will be determined on points.
Second round matches will be played after the term tests and matches will start next week.

The division II matches had a comprised total of 85 teams that took part across a total of 13 groups that was scheduled and played across various parts of the Island. Similar to the above scenario the Division two schools at the top will go through to the pre-quarter finals and then Semifinalists will take on each other and the winner will be selected on points.
