The 04th Travel Trade Sports Club Beach Tag Rugby Championships 2017 will take place on the 19th of November at the Paradise Beach, Mt. Lavinia.
The tournament will commence at 9.00am this Sunday where a total of 14 teams will take part in the tournament. As done on previous occasions, the tournament will be conducted by the Agoal Rugby Academy in two stages – the “League” and the “Knock-out” for the “Cup”, “Plate”& “Bowl” Championships accordingly. This tournament will be sponsored by Walkers Tours.
The teams which have confirmed participation are Classic Travel (2 teams) , Walkers/Whittalls, Sri Lankan Airlines (02 teams), Green Holidays, Aitken Spence Travels, Exotic Holidays, Cinnamon Grand Colombo (02 teams), Ozo Colombo, Ceylon Roots, and Emirates & Hema’s LTAG.
There will be three special awards on offer for the Most Outstanding Player of the Cup segment, Most Promising Player of the Plate segment & Most Up Coming Player of the Bowl.
In the 2016 tournament held on 26th November on the same beach with the participation of 11 teams, Classic Travel went away with the “Cup” and Sri Lankan Airlines managed to win the “Plate” and Cinnamon Grand Colombo won the “Bowl”.
