Abdu Salamov scored four goals as merciless Uzbekistan destroyed Sri Lanka 10-0 in the 2018 AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers Group B encounter at the Republican Central Stadium, Dushanbe in Tajikistan.

Sri Lanka draw against Maldives in a thrilling finish

Nethma Malshan came off the bench to score an injury time..

Sri Lanka came into the match on a high after a last grasp equalizer from Nethma Malshan against Maldives while for Uzbekistan, this was their first match of the group stage. Sri Lanka met Uzbekistan in the 2016 AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers, but on that occasion they were only beaten 3-0.

It took only three minutes for Uzbekistan to breach the Sri Lanka defense when Salamov scored the 1st. Izzatov added the 2nd and Kenjabaev Islom the 3rd as Uzbekistan made it 3-0 inside the first 20 minutes.

The white wolf cubs went onto add two more in the 21st & 25th minutes through Salamov and Islom respectively. Sri Lanka were then able to shut the goal flood until half time.

Half time – Uzbekistan 5 – 0 Sri Lanka  

The islanders were able to extend the goal drought to a further 18 minutes before Zokirov scored the 6th and four minutes later the 7th.

There was no respite for Sri Lanka Salamov and Mozgovoy scored in quick succession and Salamov added his fourth goal a minute before full time to complete the rout.

Full time – Uzbekistan 10 – 0 Sri Lanka
