After two days of the ‘Indoor Segment’ of the 10th Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2017 Men’s Super League, Ports Authority, Air Force SC, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Army SC stayed unbeaten in group A & B.

The matches were played at the Jeyraj Fernandopulle Indoor Stadium in Negombo and the National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium in Maharagama.
Group A
Defending four time champions, Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) won both their games but it is Air Force SC who finds themselves at the top of the group courtesy of a better points ratio.
SLPA won their first match against Navy SC 3-1. Ports won the first set 25-23 in a close contest before Navy completely out-played them in the 2nd set to win 11-25. However, SLPA bounced back to win the next two 25-22.

In their 2nd match, SLPA rolled over Police SC 26-24, 25-18 & 25-17 after an early scare.
On the other hand, Air Force SC had an easier win. They won it 25-19, 25-22 & 25-18. Air Force too had a lengthy match against Navy SC but came out 3-1 winners. Navy won the first set 22-25 but Air Force came back strongly winning the next three sets 25-16, 25-13 & 25-16.

Group B
Last year’s runners-up CEB topped group B at the end of day 2, without dropping a single set while Army was placed 2nd after losing a set.
CEB defeated MAS Leisure Line 3-0. They won the 1st set 25-18 before fending off a strong challenge from the Mercantile champions to win the 2nd set 25-23. CEB went onto win the 3rd set 25-18.

Against National Youth Services Council (NYSC) side, it was the same story for CEB winning it 25-19, 25-23 & 25-18.
Army comfortably defeated NYSC 25-16, 25-17 & 25-15. However, against MAS Leisure Line they lost a set but eventually won the match. In that match Army won the 1st set 25-20 but MAS came back to win it 23-25. Army was too strong in the next two sets winning them 25-15 & 25-21.
