Former Sri Lanka Captain and batting legend Kumar Sangakkara has been named in the five-man panel appointed by the Ministry of Sports to draw up plans to rebuild Sri Lanka Cricket in the next two years.

The Sports Minister, Dayasiri Jayasekara in a statement mentioned that former Captain Mahela Jayawardene has also been invited to be a part of this special advisory panel.

The panel will be headed by Hemaka Amarasuriya, a well-known figure in the cricketing and business fraternity. The other members will include former captains Anura Tennakoon, Aravinda de Silva and Director General at the institute of Sports Medicine, Lakshman Edirisinghe.

Further, the Ministry of Sports has announced that the report on the workshop which was held to brainstorm ideas on how to rebuild Sri Lanka Cricket has been handed over to the Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekara by Professor Ranjith Bandara of the Colombo University on the 27th of September.

The Amarasuriya-led panel is expected to present their findings within 3 months.
