The 21-year-old Gunarathane will thus represent the Softlogic Warriors in the upcoming second leg that is set to kick off at the Race Course grounds this weekend. Having represented the Dragons, it was evident that the team did not take the maximum out of the national talent they had in the team.
There was ample opportunity for Omalka to play alongside the young KBSL Dragons outfit that was led by Navy player Thilina Weerasinghe. The Dragons finished 6th overall at the end of the 1st leg that took place at Nittawela but will be crippled with the omission of the former Isipathana and junior national captain.

Softlogic Warriors have used this to strengthen their team and Gunarathane will make his entry in the blue Warriors jersey in the coming weekend. The Warriors, led by Jason Dissanayake proved to be the turnaround team in the Kandy leg. The Warriors lost all of their group stage games on day 1 but later went on to make a breakthrough on day 2 and ended up being runners-up.
The Softlogic team go into the second leg with 25 points for their second place finish and have title intentions still intact.
