As the Singer Schools League came to an exciting end, the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association organised the Under 18 Girls Rugby 7’s tournament at Welisara. This year’s edition of the tournament was contested by 11 teams compared to last year’s 8 teams which is a clear indication of the development in rugby towards the fairer sex.
The 11 teams were placed in 4 groups with the top 2 teams of each group advancing to the cup quarter finals. The loser of the quarter finals will be relegated to contest for the bowl championship and the losers of the semi finals will contest for the plate championship.
