The Athletic Association of Sri Lanka (AASL) will hold the second set of trials to finalise the national squad that will take part in the Asian Athletic championship which will be held in Bhubaneswar, India (6th to the 9th of July 2017 on the 01st & 02nd June at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakse Stadium.
The 2nd national trial, which was scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of May was postponed due to the Asian championship being moved to July as the venue of the competition was moved from Ranchi to Bhubaneswar.
AASL have announced a minimum qualification entry standard for the athletes who wish to participate in the selection trails and only the athletes who have achieved the said standards will be permitted to participate in the trials which will also provide the athletes a platform to gain qualification for the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) World Championships to be held in England later this year.
