Sri Lanka Schools Under 15s emerge champions

The Sri Lanka Schools Under 15 team emerged champions at the International Under 15 Cricket tournament which was played for the Tuanku Ja’afar Trophy in Malaysia recently.

In the final Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 131 runs played at the Bayuemas Oval.  In the first round Sri Lanka beat South Africa, Bangladesh and Malaysia to top the points table. In the semi-final Sri Lanka beat Malaysia.

Sri Lanka U15: 166/6 in 40 overs (Pawan Rathnayake 50, Amitha Dabare 37, Yesith Rupasinghe 35, Abhishek Anandakumar 22)

South Africa U15: 35 in 18.1 overs (Kai Slade Curran 14, Abhishek Anandakumar 4/5, Pasindu Thennakoon 3/5, Kanihka Hasitha 2/10)

Sri Lanka U15 beat South Africa U15 by 131 runs.
