With the final week of round one upon us, ThePapare.com takes a closer look at the match ups lined up for this weekend.
DS Senanayake College will be hosting an in-form Josephian outfit at Welisara in a dead rubber match for both.
St. Joseph’s come into this game following a morale boosting win against arch rivals St. Peter’s last weekend. Meanwhile the Dons were taken to the cleaners by reigning champions Isipathana.
The 25-10 win last weekend for Joes means they climb up to third place above Peter’s in the table with one match in hand. The Josephian team will undoubtedly look to end their first round games with a win as they take on the Dons.

Things appear to be far worse for the Dons with no win to their name out of five games this season.
DS looked out of sorts in their mammoth 69-13 loss last weekend at the hands of Isipathana and will aim to register a highly unlikely first win to round off a forgettable first round as they head into the Plate segment.
Royal College will be hosting St. Anthony’s College at Royal Complex in a do or die game for the visitors.
It would be interesting to see what type of effect, positive or otherwise, a week off would have for Royal as they come into this crunch encounter.

St. Peter’s experienced the downside of a bye last weekend, however the Reid Avenue lads with the experience of Sanath Martis at the helm would know how to use the rest week to good effect to bounce back from their loss to Isipathana College.
The visitors had a favorable outing last weekend with a comeback 34-24 win. This win could not have come at a better time but if they are to have any hopes of progressing to round two of the cup segment, a win is mandatory while hoping that the Rajans get the better of Peters.
Dharmaraja host Peters at Nittawala in a vital game for the visitors who face a tricky situation if they are to qualify to the cup segment.
Both teams come in following two defeats, Rajans to St. Anthony’s while St. Peter’s to the Josephians.
WATCH LIVE: DHARMARAJA V ST.PETER’S
Dharmaraja led the game up until crunch time but the Eagles came good at the correct time to steal the win while St. Peter’s tasted defeat to St. Joseph’s in a stop start game at Bambalapitya.
Dharmaraja will have to improve on closing up games if they are to have any chance against the Peterites. However the lads from Bambalapitiya would have to improve on their all round performance if they are to snatch a victory in Kandy.
