Milinda Siriwardena has been appointed as the Captain of the Board President’s XI team against Bangladesh in a one-off practice match scheduled to be played tomorrow (Wednesday) at the CCC grounds.
The national selectors have named a 12-man squad to take on the in-form Bangladeshis ahead of the three-match ODI series which starts on the 25th of March in Dambulla.
Four players, Kusal Janith Perera, Sachith Pathirana, Thisara Perera and Dhanajaya De Silva who are already named in the ODI squad have been given an opportunity to get some match practice ahead of the all-important three-match series.
Young left-arm seamer Binura Fernando has been included subject to fitness while off-spinner Akila Dhananjaya has also been included.
