A few big names in the championship contention teams are in real danger of missing the crucial final game week in the 2016 Dialog Champions League.
Blue Star SC, Colombo FC and Renown SC are the three clubs in title contention and vital players of those teams are on a yellow card. A 2nd yellow card in Super 8 game week 6 would mean they would miss their respective final game week match, which would probably be title deciders.
For Colombo FC, their star attraction Zarwan Johar and Tuan Rizni are on a yellow card each. Zarwan got himself a caution after an unnecessary foul late in the game against Air Force.
Blue Star and Renown are the teams who will be massively affected with no less than three and five players respectively on a caution.
For Blue Star veteran E.B.Channa and key figures Nasiru Opayemi and Afonja Jibola have a yellow card from their previous games.
Renown will be affected in all three; defense, midfield and forward positions with Fazul Rahuman, Mohamed Uzman, Hakeem Kamil, Mohamed Mujeeb and Dimuthu Priyadarshana having one yellow card each in front of their name. Fazul, Dimuthu, Hakeem and Uzman all got yellow cards in a heated game week 5 encounter against Air Force.
The players will need to tread carefully in their respective matches in Super 8 game week 6 as it would be major shame if these top players miss out on the grand finale.
