Asela Rangana and Suwanji Madanayake managed 7 wickets between themselves as Police dismissed Lankan CC for a below par 159 as the visitors ended day one in a spot of bother in the Tier ‘B’ segment of the SLC Premier three day tournament.
Winning the toss and electing to field, Police SC got off to the perfect start as left arm spinner Madanayake dismissed dangerous attacking batsman Lakshan Rodrigo early in the game for just 12 runs.
Fellow opener Aneeq Hassan soon followed for just 7 runs as Lankan SC found themselves in a spot of bother at 21 for the loss of 2 wickets within 7 overs.
Maduranga Zoysa was the single batsman to register a reasonable contribution of 47 as his fellow batsmen fell for scores below 20 as the visitors were reeling at 159 in their first innings.
Asela Rangana (4/17) and Suwanji Madanayake (3/55) managed 7 wickets between themselves to put the visitors in trouble.
Police SC managed just 7 runs in their first innings in which just 2.1 overs were bowled as the game drew to a close on day one.
