Resuming their first innings on day two Nalanda College did very little to trouble the S. Thomas’ College total despite a dogged innings by Lakshitha Rasanjana at SSC grounds. 

Nalanda notched up a mediocre 166 as Pavith Rathnayake was the chief destroyer for the Thomians with figures of 5/56. S. Thomas’ wasted little time in capitalizing on their advantage as they piled on 131/5 thanks to a brisk Ravindu Kodithuwakku half century, as they declared hoping to wrap up an impressive outright victory. However, the Nalandians’ held firm to scrape through with just a first innings defeat as they ended day 2 on 91/4.

Earlier on day one an impressive batting performance by the lads from the School by the Sea, saw them rack up 263. Romesh Nallapperuma and Dinura Gunawardane were the chief contributors with impressive half centuries.

Richmond College v Trinity College

An impressive Trinity College outfit piled on the misery on a hapless Richmond bowling line-up. Trevon Percivel notched up an elegant unbeaten ton as the lions declared on a mammoth 348/8. Commencing their second innings, Richmond mustered 55/3 at stumps on day two as Trinity College bagged deserving first innings points.

Richmond were earlier bowled out for a respectable 223 runs in their first innings as Chamikara Hewage and Avindu Teekshana stroked impressive half centuries.  Vimukthi Nethumal was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he picked up 5/55.

St. Anthony’s College v St. Anne’s College

St. Anthony’s ended day one on top by a slender margin after the visiting St. Anne’s lads ended day one in a bit of trouble at 46/3. Earlier in the day St. Anthony’s, batting first, managed only a mediocre 176 all out as Avishka Tharindu top scored with 63. He was ably supported by Joel Pinto and Yasindu Raveen while Pabudu Ganegama capped 4/65 for the visitors.

Royal College v St. Anthony’s College

The bowlers dominated for both teams as the Anthonians bundled out their visitors for a mere 190 runs. Batting first Royal couldn’t get any sort of momentum going, losing wickets in regular intervals. Kavindu Madurasinghe managed a decent 30 for the depleted Royal batting line up. The visitors bounced back well with the ball as they managed to bag four scalps as they hosts ended day one on 95/4. Sunera Jayasinghe remained unbeaten on 46 for St. Anthony’s.
