Kurunegala YCC vs SL Airforce SC
Thilina Herath’s 7 wicket haul helped Kurunegala YCC take the upper hand on day 1 of their match against Air Force at Kurunegala. The home side restricted the visitors to just 200 runs in 61.5 overs. Buddika Sandaruwan played a fighting knock of 70 for the Airmen while Lahiru Sri Lakmal chipped in with a valuable 44 down the order. However the man of the moment was Thilina Herath who bagged 7 wickets in the first innings, giving away only 66 runs in his 21 overs.
In reply at stumps, Kurunegala were 85 for 3 in 28 overs.

Lankan CC vs Kaluthara TC
A brilliant double hundred by Maduranga Zoysa helped Lankan CC post 446 for 9 on Day 1 in their match against Kaluthara TC at Panagoda. Maduranga came in at No 5 and with his side in trouble at 4 for 2 in 6, overs, he managed put up a brilliant partnership with Aneeq Hasan to save his side from trouble. The pair put up 124 for the 3rd wicket with Hasan scoring 56 runs. Maduranga was then joined by Lal Kumar and the pair added 222 runs for the 4th wicket with Kumar scoring a run a ball 107. Maduranga was ultimately dismissed for 203 runs and his innings came off 233 deliveries including 13 boundaries and 9 maximums. Yohan De Silva managed to take five wickets for Kaluthara but the rest of the bowlers had very high economy rates which goes to show how dominant the batters were on Day 1.

Panadura SC vs SLPA
The battle between the two table toppers kicked off today at Panadura. The home side batted first and posted 306 all out in their first innings. Hasantha Fernando top scored with 84 runs while Sanjaya Chathuranga scored 51 runs down the order. In form Chamikara Edirisinghe took another 5-for for SLPA while Charith Komasaru bagged 3 wickets in the first innings.
SLPA had to bat out 5 overs before stumps and they lost 2 wickets for just 19 runs before the day ended.

SL Navy SC vs Kaluthara PCC
Navy managed to gain some advantage in the latter part of Day 1 against Kaluthara PCC at Welisara. The home side batted first and they only managed to post 258 runs thanks to some good bowling by the visitors. Navy lost wickets at regular intervals and it was only their skipper Sameera Sandamal who hung on for some time and top scored with 79 runs. There were a few valuable contributions by the top order for the Sailors as well. Ramesh Selvaraj was the pick of the bowlers for Kaluthara with figures of 4 for 58.
In reply at stumps on Day 1, Kaluthara PCC were 69 for 3 in 21 overs.
