Tissa Central College, Kalutara were crowned champions of the Under 13 Singer Cup Division 1 Championship after beating the defending champions Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa on performance points after their match ended in a no result. The finals was held at the Thurstan College Grounds yesterday.
Tissa Central College won the toss and elected to bat first and were able to post a score of 217/4 in 65 overs, powered by an unbeaten 109 from Mithira Thenura and supported by a 50 from Shashmika Weerasekara.

In reply the lads from Moratuwa were able to score 146/5 in 31.4 overs before play was called off. Prince of Wales had healthy contributions from Induwara De Alwis (46) and Vinuja Rampaul (45). Unfortunately Prince of Wales had not racked up enough of performance points to retain the championship.
