Bangladesh hammers Maldives

Bangladesh annihilated Maldives 6-0 as they booked their first final spot in the SAFF Women’s Championship.

Maldives created few good moves right from the start. Shahula looked dangerous in the opening minutes of the game as she was able to beat her marker before she drove down solo from the middle and it was just her and the keeper. Shahula however failed to take that final shot thus ending the attack with a goal kick.

It was however Bangladesh who took the lead in the 12th minute. Sirat Jahan Shopna was fed with a brilliant pass from the left and she converted it brilliantly.

It did not take very long for Bangladesh to double their lead as in the 22nd minute Sirat Jahan Shopna once again showed her brilliance beating the keeper into the net.

Maldives too created some good opportunities but every attack they made, they failed to capitalize on it. By the end of half-time Bangladesh was two goal ahead of Maldives.

Bangladesh increased their lead in the 52nd minute when Sirat Jahan played a brilliant ball for Nargis who made no mistake to slot the ball home right from the edge of the box.

Bangladesh further increased their lead in the 57th minute. Sirat Jaman got her hat-trick as she slotted home to make 5 goals for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh got their 6th goal through a penalty. Sabina took the shot and made no mistake.
