The final day of the South Asian Aquatic Championships was held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex with the active participation of top swimmers from South Asia representing their countries.
Power duo Kimiko Raheem and Matthew Abeysinghe of Sri Lanka pushed through and through to win two medals each on the final day of the meet for the hosts.

Kimiko Raheem dominated the waters for Sri Lanka by winning Gold in both the 50m Freestyle and the 100m Backstroke. She went on to win Gold in the 4x200m Freestyle relay, bringing her total medal count to 5 Gold medals for the entirety of the meet and earning her an Individual Ranking in the Under 18 Women’s category.
Matthew Abeysinghe continued to bring glory to Sri Lanka on the final day of the meet, winning Gold in the Boys 18 & Over 50m Freestyle, tallying his medal count for the course of the meet to a whopping 5 Gold medals which earned him an Individual Ranking for the 18 & Over Men’s category.

Kyle Abeysinghe excelled yet again in the waters, winning Gold in the Boys’ Under 18 50m Freestyle and placing 2nd in the Boys’ Under 18 4x200m Freestyle relay on the final day. These wins earned him an Individual Ranking in the Under 18 Men’s category, with a total of 4 Golds and 1 Silver medal for the course of the event.
Though the Sri Lankan swimmers excelled, the diving pool was dominated by the ever graceful Indian swimmers who managed to take home all of the Individual Championships in the Diving category.
The fourth day of SAAC concluded with India taking home a whopping total of 216 medals, with Sri Lanka coming in close with a total of 189 medals. Maldives managed to bag 17 medals with Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal winning 9, 6 and 1 medal respectively.
