Dixon the U20 Sevens captain made his senior debut in the first leg of this series and was impressive with his performance. Unfortunately he is having a MCL injury on his right knee which he sustained during training. Hopefully Dixon will be fit for the final leg to play on home soil. Jason Dissanayake was ruled out due to a concussion in the Western Asia rugby tournament which was held in the UAE last week. Although, Jason was in training he was rested due to safety concerns. Experienced Dinusha Chathuranga was also left out giving room to Kanchana Ramanayake.
Gallant Sri Lanka go down fighting to Hong Kong
Srinath Sooriyabandara the sevens sensation has tons of experience to his name. He missed out on the first leg due to a concussion sustained during the Sri Lanka Super Sevens tournament. Richard Dharmapala the man who became the Player of the Tournament at this year’s Mercantile Sevens needs no introduction. Kanchana Ramanayake who crossed over from CR&FC to Kandy SC has been a regular member in the sevens pool since last year.
Sudarshana Muthuthantri is still not 100% fit because of his wrist fracture although he was training in the Tuskers camp. Previously the Tuskers had so many senior men injured and unable to take part in training.
The team will depart the island on Wednesday night.
