Bolting Bolt wins historic 3rd 100m Olympic gold
Usain Bolt created history when he triumphed in the 100m sprint becoming the first man to win gold in the 100m at 3 consecutive games. Bolt won gold overcoming USA sprint champion Justin Gatlin clocking 9.81 seconds.
Murray retains his Olympic Gold
Wimbledon champion Murray retained his Olympic title with an epic win over Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro in the men’s singles final. Murray managed to defend the Gold medal he won at the London 2012 games amidst a number of tennis superstars making an exit from the games early on.
Michael Johnson’s 17 year old record smashed
Wayde van Niekerk from South Africa managed to achieve a magnificent feat by establishing a new world record time of 43.03 seconds in the 400m final winning gold and bettering the world record held by, the American great, Michael Johnson for 17 years.
