SSC beat Badureliya comfortably by 7 wickets within 30 overs while Ragama CC eased passed Kurunegala Youth effortlessly to beat them by 9 wickets in the two concluded games in the under 23 Division 1 cricket tournament.

SSC’s U23 held their top spot in Group D as they beat Badureliya by 7 wickets at their home ground this afternoon. Badureliya, placed third in the group were inserted to bat after losing the toss. Badureliya began slowly as they were reduced to 28 for 1 in 10.2 overs.
The Badureliya middle order never got going as regular wickets 122 for 5 in 35.4 overs eventually getting wrapped up for just 156 in 44 overs. Pathum Madushanka was the only batsman to register a score of over thirty as he made a fighting 36 off 64 balls which included 4 fours. Akash Senevirathne was the second highest scorer for Badureliya with 26 off 53. Tharindu Rathnayake impressed with the ball for SSC as he picked up 4 for 29 in his allotted 10 overs. Nuwan Thushara managed 3 for 26 in 7 overs.

SCC reached their target losing just 3 wickets as they made easy work of the below par target of 157. Kavinda de Thissera top scored for SSC with a quick fire 43 off 39 all which included 3 sixes and 4 fours. Krishan Sanjula made 33 unbeaten runs to guide SSC home in 27.2 overs.

Kurunegala Youth vs Ragama
Winning the toss and batting first in a bottom of the table clash in Group C, Kurunegala Youth managed just 172 within their allotted quota of 50 overs. Damith Perera top scored for Kurunegala Youth with 76, Tharinda Dasanayake made a hard fought 39 with the bat.
Sumudu Sameera (4/27) and Udith Madushan (2/18) picked up 6 wickets between them as they restricted Kurunegala Youth to a low 172 in 50 overs.

Chasing the low total of 173 Ragama CC eased to their target losing just 1 wicket as Simuel Kerber made an unbeaten 66* and Saminda Fernando scored 45 runs not out as they drove Ragama CC to victory. Charith Sasalanka also managed 44 runs for Ragama.
