The first round of the ‘Singer Trophy’ under 17 division one inter-school cricket tournament has come to an end with 32 teams advancing to the second round.
A total of 75 schools’ teams participated in 10 groups in the first round. The 32 teams in the second round will play in 8 groups on a league basis with the top two teams advancing to the pre-quarter final stage. The second round matches will be worked off from the 1st of July.
Group P – Maris Stella College, Negombo, St. Joseph’s College, Wesley College, Bandaranayake College, Gampaha.
Group Q – St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, Royal College, Panadura, St. Peter’s College, Negombo, Thurstan College.
Group R – D.S Senanayake College, St. Peter’s College, Colombo 4, Vidyartha College, Kandy, Lumbini College.
Group S – Mahanama College, Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya, Kingswood College, Kandy, Gurukula College, Kelaniya.
Group T – Ananda College, Mahinda College, Galle, Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, De Mazenod College, Kandana.
Group U – St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, Sri Devananda College, Ambalangoda, Devapathiraja College, Rathgama, Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa.
Group V – Dharmaraja College, Kandy, Trinity College, Kandy, Richmond College, Galle, St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala.
Group W – St. Aloysius’ College, Galle, St. John’s College, Jaffna, Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy.
