D.S. pull out of President’s; Isipathana gets walkover

In an unprecedented turn of events, D. S. Senanayake College have forwarded their request to withdraw from the Milo President’s Trophy as of last evening (22nd).

The finalized draw that was announced last evening at the launch of the Milo President’s trophy press conference included D. S. as a playing side but according to school sources, they have officially communicated to the organizers their plans to withdraw. D. S. Senanayake were drawn into the tournament after St. Joseph’s, Trinity and Science made themselves unavailable.

DS were set to meet Isipathana College in the quarterfinals and with them opting out, the league champions will get a walkover and qualify for the semi-finals directly. The adjusted fixtures will be as follows:

QF 1 25th June – Isipathana College – Walkover
QF 2 26th June – St. Peter’s College v St. Anthony’s College at 4.30 Royal Complex
QF 3 27th June – Royal College v Wesley College at 4.30 Royal Complex / CR&FC
QF 4 28th June – S. Thomas’ College v Zahira College at 4.30 Royal Complex
