The Colombo Rowing Club certainly held their ground at the inaugural Karachi-Colombo regatta this Saturday.
The Karachi Boat Club was off to a good start, winning both the Men’s Senior Scull and the Ladies Pair, securing them 6 and 8 points respectively. However the Colombo Rowing Club made a quick comeback, bagging the remaining 32 points in the men’s category and 30 points in the Ladies.
Both crews displayed much skill as they fought to leave their mark at this inaugural encounter. The men’s pair race in particular exhibited the spirit of healthy competition that this regatta hopes to foster, as CRC clinched the win with only a second. The CRC Ladies’ Four came down with a record timing of 3.55 minutes.
CRC took home the men’s category (32-6), the women’s category (30-8), and the Boat Race trophy.
