St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and Lumbini College, Colombo 5 recorded comprehensive first-innings wins in the ‘Singer Cup’ under 19 division one tournament 2015/16 matches which concluded on Tuesday.

St. Joseph Vaz College vs D.S Senanayake College

Struggling D.S Senanayake was saved by time as St. Joseph Vaz College missed out on a well-deserved outright victory at Albert F. Peiris grounds in Wennappuwa.

Left-arm spinner Thulanjana Fernando of St. Joseph Vaz took 7 wickets for 9 runs as the visitors were bowled out for a solitary 59 runs in their first innings. D.S. Senanayake scored 44 runs for 7 wickets at close on day 2 as only 60 overs were possible.

Lumbini College vs Dharmasoka College

Left-arm spinner Chanaka Devinda picked up a four-wicket haul as Lumbini College secured first-innings points in a tame draw against Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda in their match at Surrey Village grounds in Maggona.

Lumbini – 214 all out in 58 overs: Mohommed Akram 40, Randima Lakshan 39, Sanjeewa Soysa 27, Kavindu Nadeeshan 4/56, Sasith Dilhan 3/32.
