Stamford records first tour win‏

The Under 17 Netball team of Stamford high school managed to record their first tour win in their tour of Sri Lanka in Sigiriya this morning. The matches were played at the SIGIRIYA central college grounds.

First match was played against Thalakiriyagama Central College netball team. In a closely contested encounter the Stanford girls got the better luck at the end of the three quarters, recording a 7-6 narrow win against them. Best player of the match was Immy Bromich.

The Stamford girls continued their winning streak to the second match as well where they managed to score a very convincing win over hosts Sigiriya Central College with scores reading as 12-01 in favour of the visitors. Player of the match was won by Torri Worrall from the Stamford Team.

Final match for the day was worked off against Dambulla Central College Under 17 team. Once again the touring team got the better share of the day as they managed to strike their third win with scores running at 16-05 in favour of them. Best player trophy was awarded to Honor Munro- Hall.

The team will be playing their first hockey fixture tomorrow at the Matale Astro Turf from 10.00 am onwards.
