St. Joseph’s College Colombo and Royal College Colombo convincingly registered outright victories over De Mazenod College, Kandana and Royal College, Panadura in their under 19 ‘Singer’ Cup division one matches which concluded on Saturday.
St. Joseph’s College vs De Mazenod College
Left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Malshan Rodrigo’s heroics handed St. Joseph’s College their 3rd outright victory for the season beating De Mazenod College by 7 wickets at Darley Road.
Batting at number 8, Malshan scored a 74-ball unbeaten 52 with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He has now captured 34 wickets in the current season in 5 matches.

Royal College Colombo vs Royal College Panadura
Janith Sandeepa along with Lasith Embuldeniya and Naveen Vidanapathirana combined to help Royal College Colombo ease to a convincing 10-wicket win over Royal College Panadura in their match concluded at St. John’s ground in Panadura.
Janith and Lasith captured 14 wickets amongst them to trouble the hosts while Sandeepa shined with the bat as well scoring a valiant half-century. Vidanapathirana made an unbeaten fifty during the chase for the visitors.

Mahinda College claimed a vital first-innings win over Zahira College in their match which concluded at Maradana.
Gihan Danushka’s excellent half-ton enabled Mahinda to go over the winning line even though Mohammed Ahnas of Zahira scored 115 runs in 90 balls with 11 boundaries and 6 sixes in their second innings.
