The 54th Junior National Sports Festival, organized by the Sri Lanka Athletics Association, will be worked off at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakse Stadium from the 12th – the 15th of May. This championship will see athletes competing in the under 16, 18, 20 & 23 categories.
1,500 applicants will vie for honours in an array of Track and Field events including 100m, 200m, 400m, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot put, Discus throw, Javelin throw, Pole vault, Hammer throw and so on, in the four age categories.
This event will work as the final selection trial for the upcoming 17th Asian Junior National tournament which will be held from the 03rd to the 06th of June in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and the IAAF World U20 Championships Bydgoszcz 2016 to be held in Poland.
