Judokas of Mahadeva Judo Club at Jeyanthinagar in Kilinochchi took up their first judo grading on the 13th June 2013. Twenty-six judokas have got through the grading and promoted to the first Belt in Judo the 6th Kyu.
Mr.Namal Rajasinghe the secretary of the Sri Lanka School Judo Association and Mr. Amal Rathnayake the nominated Grading Board of the Sri Lanka Judo Association conducted this grading at a colorful ceremony organized by Mr.T.Rasanayagam (Former Government Agent in Kilinochchi) the President of Mahadeva Judo Club.
Mahadeva Judo Club has already added to the history as first judo club in the Northern and Eastern Provinces and these 26 judokas too will come to the limelight as the most senior judokas in the two provinces in the future.
President of the Sri Lanka Judo Association Deshabandu Mr.U.H.Gayan Priyantha JP, General Secretary Major Tharindu Weerasinghe, the coach of Mahadeva Judo Club Mr.P.W.Jayawardane and the officials of Mahadeva Judo Club the Patron Mr.A.Karunanithy,Vice President Miss V. Jeyapriya, Secretary Mr.Velauththampillai ,Treasurer Miss S. Komalathevi , Asst Secretary Miss R.Thusyanthi and the Committee Members were also present at the occasion.
