Sri Lanka Football Federation has decided to host Sri Lanka’s first-ever National Beach Football League, in the month of June, ThePapare learns.
According to reports, the league would be organized, targeting the forthcoming 2nd South Asian Beach Sports Festival which is to be held in Maldives this year.
The Federation intends to host the National Beach Football League as a two-day event, although the exact dates are yet to be finalized. The proposed Negombo beach belt is expected to take a festive atmosphere for the two day event.
It is also learnt that, it has been made compulsory for the football clubs around the country, to nominate a team for the maiden beach football event organized by Sri Lanka Football Federation.
The organizers expect to present cash rewards for the winning teams in their first-ever Sri Lankan Beach Football League.
