Kazhakstan come back strong in their second outing for the 2013 edition of the Asian 5 Nations tournament, defeating Chinese Taipei with a 42-19 score.
The first half belonged to the Kazhakstan outfit with 3 tries coming their way. The three quarters came good with two of the three tries coming from the backs with center Alexandr Zaharov and fly half Akymbekov Daulet went over with a try each. Captain and Number 8 Serik Zhanseitov burst through for a 5fer himself. Maxim Lifontov the full back was the boot man for the Kazakhs complementing the score board to move.
The Kazakhstan closed the first half with a motivating lead the score reading 26 nothing in their favor.
The second half saw the Kazakhs continue to their efforts to breach the opposition defenses. They were only successful in one goal via Akymbekov’s second try. Full back Lifontov was the man behind the points coming good with all of 4 penalties.
The second half was more kind to the Chinese Taipei outfit as they posted to tries on the board via hooker Po-Yao Chuang and full back Ho Ming-Sien. Conversions going astray left the scores at 42-10 in favor of the Kazakhs.
It was a motivating win for the Kazhaks having gone down heavy to a mobile Thailand team in their very first encounter. They will be taking on the host and the only unbeaten team in the tournament, Sri Lanka, which will present a daunting task, come the weekend. The Kazakhs though will look to use their heavy size and weighty “8” to take the pressure to the hosts and notch up a win.
