Earth Hour – The largest environment campaign in the history of our planet to stand against Climate Change, will take place today (March 23), from 8.30 – 9.30 pm.
The National Event to mark the Earth Hour is scheduled to be held at Sri Mahindaramaya Temple, Ethulkotte, under the patronage of Ministry of Environment, from 7.00 – 9.30pm.
Whilst many corporate institutions and organizations have signed up with Earth Hour organizers to pledge against Climate Change, several organizations have arranged special programmes which are open for the general public.

Introduce the “60+ Earth Hour” Coffee Art.
Non essential lights will be switched off at both Coco veranda outlets (Cinnamon Gardens & Crescat Boulevard) to mark the hour.
Candle lit Dinner & a discount of 10% on all purchases – during the Earth Hour.
Spreading the word & running campaigns on Social Media Open-Mic Music session.
Invite all friends and fans to join us to observe Earth Hour Complimentary bottles of “Water With a Difference” will be given out to all those who will be present during the Earth hour.

Cinnamon Grand has signed up with Earth Hour and pledges for a sustainable future.
Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel
A special movie (The Home – Impact of human activities on earth pollution and it’s impact towards humankind) will be shown on the hotel promotional TV channel from 8.30 to 9.30 pm.
During the Earth Hour, candles will be lit on the tables, along with a small note regarding the earth hour will be displayed in all food & beverage outlets.
If you are an in-house guest, you will be receiving a letter stating the activities that we are going to carry out during the earth hour, also requesting them to switch off unnecessary lights in your rooms and to bring down the room air conditioner temperature to 26 c.
Harpo’s Restaurants
Inviting all guests to experience a candle lit dinner at our restaurants. Namely, Bayleaf, Commons, Colombo Fort Café and offering a 10% discount.
Hilton Hotel
Keeping in line with the Earth Hour theme of 60+, Spices, Spoons and the Thorana Lounge will be switching off their lighting for one hour, allowing diners to enjoy a candlelit dinner.
Spices restaurant will be serving an authentic Hydrabadi themed buffet that is created by the hotel’s very own Indian Chef Sandeep Kumar.
Guests can also enjoy the Earth Hour Jazz unplugged at the hotel’s exquisite Thorana Lounge and bar.

La Voile Blanche invites everyone to take part in their Earth Hour celebrations which would be followed by a nice and warm fire display at 8.30 pm.
