Nalanda College took on St. Sylvester’s College today in an inter school cricket match at Thurstan grounds.
Nalanda College who won the toss elected to bat first and scored 191 runs all out in 72.3 over with spinners doing most of the damage. Lahiru Jayakody batted beautifully scoring 66 runs. Avishka De Silva was dismissed on 46 and Malinga Amarathunga with 31 runs sustained the team. Anthony Tiron and Indunil Samarananda took the bulk of the wickets with 5 and 3 respectively.
The match was ended early due to bad light and will be continued tomorrow with St Sylvester’s on 8 for no loss in 6 overs
