The second and final leg of Asia U20 7’s series will kick off this Friday 21st & 22nd Saturday in Hong Kong.
Junior Tuskers finished runners up in the first leg in Malaysia, losing in the finals against mighty Hong Kong 29 – 15. Once again the Sri Lanka juniors will have another possible chance to meet the rival hosts this Saturday in one of the knockout stages.
During the first leg Sri Lanka also lost to the Hong Kong team in the group game where the Tuskers led 19 – 17 until the last 30 seconds. However, Hong Kong managed to seal a try in the dying stage to continue their unbeaten run.

Tuskers will take on the UAE at 9.06 am SL time on Friday in the first group match. Then against China at 11.24am SL time followed by Malaysia at 1.42pm SL time.
Nevertheless, Collin Denish’s boys did struggle against the Chinese Taipei (19-19) in the group game and Malaysia in the semifinal where it drew 12 – 12. Superman Buddima Piyarathna of D.S. Senanayake College scored the try to seal the win. Buddima was outstanding for the Tuskers as he was the top points scorer in the first leg and the joint highest try scorer along with Jordan Cooper of Hong Kong.

Meanwhile Lasindu Ishan of Science College and Asitha Punchihewa of Isipathana Collge had been called to join the squad to provide some x factor. Team manager Rajiv Perera stated that the team needs more power in the breakdown therefore, Science skipper Lasindu, who has great skills and power could provide some spark for the team. Chamika Kusal of Wesley is not fully fit with his hamstring injury as a result Asitha Punchihewa might get a chance to play.
