Richmond College came out with a brilliant performance to beat St. Anthony’s College Wattala by 8 wickets in the inter school under 13 division 1 cricket encounter which took place today at the Thurstan grounds.
St. Anthony’s batting first made a creditable 136 runs all out in 44.4 overs in their first innings. Shalitha Fernando (31), Pavan Prabhath 41 and Falin Midusha 20 helped balloon the score. The Richmond captain Avindu Ediriweera took 3 wickets as did Kalindu Adithya. Kosala Hiran took 2 wickets to add to the wicket tallyl.
The visitors put on a sterling performance getting to the runs in 38.3 overs for just the loss of only 2 wickets. Ravishka Wijesiri and Kasun Tharaka scored an unbeaten 43 and 26 runs respectively while Raveesha Abhishek chipped in with 18 runs.
