The Asian Volleyball Championship 2015 is scheduled to be held in Teheran Iran for the 18th time from 29th July to 9th August.
The Sri Lankan National Men’s Volleyball team will be participating for this tournament for the 13th time and the Sri Lankan National Boys Volleyball Team is in the division D with Japan, China and Bahrain.
The first match the Sri Lankan team will be playing is with the Bahrain national team.
At present they are under the special training of national coach Mr.Kumara Wendakon and the national team trainer Mr.Nalin Sampath.
Being selected for the top 8 countries is the only victory they have acquired in the Asian Volleyball Championship, but the team captain Janitha Suraj speaking to ThePapare.com mentioned that they will try their best to come up with a higher level of Volleyball that before.
The National Coacher talking about his team’s chances stated “China and Japan teams are the most competitive teams in division D. So it will be so hard to reach top 8 but however we will try our best to come up with the top 12”. The selections for the national team were conducted on 03rd of July and the team is as below.

6. S.A.Janitha Suraj – Heigh Attacker – 190 cm height
7. H.Deeptha Romesh – Heigh Attacker – 188 cm height
8. J.A.Chanaka Madhushanka – Quick Attacker – 190 cm height
9. P.G.Morris Chaminda – Setter – 184 cm height
10. G.M.Chamara Mihiran – Heigh Attacker – 189 cm height
11. A.W.Lakmal – Libero – 170 cm height
12. Lasindu Methmal – Setter – 200 cm height
