National 400-meter hurdles champion, Kaushalya Madhushani has passed away on earlier today (24) ThePapare learns.
27-year-old Madhushani was found dead in her house in Dummalasuriya, two weeks after she won the Women’s 400-meter hurdles title, with a time of 58.73 seconds at the 100th National Athletics Championship 2022 conducted in Diyagama.

There has been no official statement on cause of death, however, it is suspected to be a suicide.
