CDB Finance, CL Synergy and John Keells registered wins on the 3rd day of the 30th Singer-MCA Super Premier League T20 Tournament 2023.
CL Synergy registered a thrilling 2 wicket win over Hayleys Group in their T20 encounter, which was worked off today at MCA Grounds, Colombo.
After been put into bat first, Hayleys Group were restricted to 127/7 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to an excellent spell bowled by left-arm spinner Sonal Dinusha (3/36).

Though, the target of 128 seems easy on paper, CL Synergy had to work hard in the run-chase, losing 8 wickets. The veteran all-rounder TM Sampath’s heroics with both bat and ball (43 & 4/13) went in vain for Hayleys Group.
CDB Finance registered a convincing win over Fairfirst Insurance today at CCC Grounds. Oshada Fernando and Adeesha Thilanchana stroked half-centuries as CDB Finance posted a commanding total – 173/7 on the board in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Fairfirst Insurance managed to post only 134 runs as the left-arm spinner Muditha Lakshan ripped through their batting lineup, picking up 4 wickets for 23 runs.
John Keells (A) beat BBK Partnership by 13 runs in their T20 encounter, which was played today at CCC Grounds.
Having been asked to bat first, John Keells posted 146 runs on the board, courtesy of Kavin Bandara’s well-compiled half-century and the late onslaught provided by Sachitha Jayathilaka, who stroked quick-fire 38 off 27 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Kamalarasa Iyalarasan (4/10) and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth (4/15) grabbed the headlines with superb spells for BBK Partnership.
In reply, BBK Partnership were restricted to 133/7 in the allotted 20 overs, despite Sohan de Livera contributing with a classy half-century.
With today’s three encounters, the Group stage of the tournament concludes with Hayleys Group (A), Fairfirst Insurance, CDB Finance (A) and CL Synergy Limited securing their places in the semi-final encounters.
