Yeheni Kuruppu and Anargi Perera of Visakha Vidyalaya went through to the final in the Under 17 Girls’ category at the 30th Junior National Squash Championship while A. Athapaththu and S. Perera won the semi-final matches in the Under 15 Boys’ category on the third day of the tournament at the Air Force squash court, Rathmalana.
In the Under 17 Girls’ category, Yeheni Kuruppu of Visakha Vidyalaya defeated T.Palliyaguru to reserve a place in the final. Her fellow contestant in the final and national team mate Anargi Perera won her semifinal against S.D. Siriwardene in an exciting three-setter.

The first semifinal of the Under 15 Boys’ Category was won by A Athapaththu against J.S.Premathilaka while the second semifinal was won by S.Perera against A. Hatharaliyadda.

In the Boys’ under 11 first quarter final match S.A.Dias beat A.Dwight, the 2nd quarter final was won by M.S.Dassanayaka against R.Y.Siriwardene while P.L.C.Jayawardene beat J.Jayasinghe in the 3rd and M.B.B. Nanayakkara beat K Kohombange in the 4th.

T.Liyanage, C.N Thembuwana, L.S Booso, S.R.Mendis entered the semifinals in the Under 09 Girls’ category. M.L.Rajapaksha, N.H.Wickramasinghe, M.V. Samaranayaka, N.A.Dias went through to the final 4 in the 11 Girls’ category and in the under 13 Girls’ category R.I.Wood, K.S.Silva, M.M.Weerasingha, A.D.Samaranayaka entered the semifinal round.
