The 2nd Battle of the Golds in UAE,a T20 cricket match between the old boys of two prestigious colleges in Moratuwa, Prince of Wales and St Sebastian’s will be worked off at Sharjah English School grounds in Sharjah on March 27 ( Friday).
The encounter will be played by those who are living and employed in the United Arab Emirates.
In the inaugural match played last year the Old Cambrians crushed the Old Sebastian’s by 103 runs and the Man of the Match was Dinusha Lakmal (PWC) for his blistering knock of 68 runs ( 4 x 2 & 6 x 9) and economical spell of 1 for 17. Chamara Fernando ( PWC) won the Best bowler award for his spell of 3 for 28. The Best Batman award was won by Jayashan Perera ( SSC) for his lonely effort of 46 runs ( 4×1 & 6 x 6).
This year’s Old Cambrians team will be captained by Shanesh Weerawansa who successfully led the side last year and his deputy will be Ahmed Moinuddin and the Old Sebastians will be led by Shavindra Fernando and his deputy being Janith Jayawardena.
After the conclusion of the match a joint get together has been organized for the old boys & families at Avenue Hotel, Deira, Dubai same day from 6 PM onwards.
