St. Peter’s College and Royal College locked horns on a traditional encounter at Bambalapitiya today (22).

Getting the advantage of the toss, St. Peter’s College inserted the visiting Royalists to bat first.

The run machine from Royal College, Ahan Wickramasinghe, failed for the first time in this season as he departed for 40 runs. However, Dasis Manchanayake, who is known for his big match heroics, stepped up once again to occasion, scoring a resilient 81 and remained unbeaten.

It was once again a Danal Hemananda show at Bambalapitiya – following his exceptional outing against Trinity College where he picked up 7 wickets for 76 runs, Danal topped the bowling card once again with figures of 4 for 37.

The mighty Royalists were undone for 216 runs in their first innings, while St. Peter’s College ended the day at 46 for 1 in their reply.
