The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) has finalized the Schools Rugby event calendar ahead of the 2019 Schools Rugby season.
The administrative body has planned the event calendar as such that the league in set to commence on the 1st of March 2019 and reach its final week by the 12th of May 2019. The calendar structure which started in 2017 will be followed this year as well with the All-Island Seven’s Tournament scheduled to happen after the Singer Schools Rugby League and the Milo Knockout Trophy tournament. The whole season however, will end in July and will be followed by the junior Asia Rugby tournaments.
The SLSRFA has made assurances that the year plan will be followed, making it convenient for all parties and schools to prepare well before hand.
Development programs and initiatives are also included in the calendar as the SLSRFA is on a mission to spread the sport and introduce Rugby to all parts of the country. Workshops to strengthen and provide the junior and senior coaches with what they need to polish their skills and techniques are another key factor the association is looking to uplift in the coming year.
