The Press Conference for the 13th Dialog President’s Gold Cup was held at the Nawaloka Auditorium.
The tournament will feature a record number of 4000 teams across the island with 48,000 athletes competing.

Dialog Axiata PLC has renewed its partnership for the 13th time. Organized by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) this tournament will run for a span of 5 months and will conclude in December where the finals will be played.
The tournament will consist of two categories namely the U22 and Open, where both categories will be further divided into Men’s and Women’s categories.

Present at the Press Conference Minister & President of the SLVF Ranjith Siyambalapitiya stated;
“The tournament will go from the basic levels of volleyball at the village levels to the district of Colombo. The development of the sport has been huge and we are happy that Dialog has joined hands and continue to help uplift the sport. We will write history in the year of 2018 by providing more facilities.”
“We are happy that we are yet again a part of the Championship for the 13th time, the President’s Cup will feature athletes from all over the island so I hope and wish the athletes for a successful conclusion the tournament,” Harsha Samaranayake General Manager Brand & Media of Dialog Axiata PLC added.
The Press Conference concluded by honouring three veterans of Volleyball commentary, Nimal S. Perera, Nalin Sampath Abeysinghe and Chiththadamma Rathnamudali.
